Setting up a business, business concept and business plan
Do you have a business concept but no business plan?
You may know what you want to sell but do you
know the best way to sell it? In other words,
have you given much thought to your business
plan?
Among other things, you have to think about:
- Why should customers buy from just you?
- How do your products and services compare with your competitors when it comes to price, quality, customer service, etc and what will you be able to do better?
- How will people find out about you? (please dont just rely on Google!)
- If you are going to import (or fetch) products from another country, how much will it cost? If the customer covers these costs, will the final price still be reasonable?
- Have you time to run an e-shop?
Some (but not many) of our customers haven't managed to succeed because they have simply not taken the time to think through everything. Perhaps sales turned out to be much better than expected but..
- a shop owner had to go to Greece to fetch a single order (the shipping costs for a 200 swedish kronor order turned out to be 500 swedish kronor!)
- a music band that was fully booked with
tours and recordings had to give up their
shop almost immediately after they had set
it up because they had absolutely no extra
time to take care of sales.
Last but not least - don't forget about the red tape - you probably need authorization to set up a business and you will have to pay tax and VAT on everything you sell!
Take time and develop a business plan you are satisfied with. We hope you will be our customer for many years so that we can grow together.
